It’s finally time for me to go on my summer break, back home to Romania, after a successful year of studying in London – this means lots (with an angry focus on LOTS) of packing. And with me being the hoarder that I am, I do tend to keep stuff that I no longer need (e.g.: “I’m sure I’ll manage one more squeeze off that tube”, or “Maybe I’ll need that one day”). So, it’s time to say goodbye to some products…
La Roche-Posay Hydreane Riche for sensitive skin has been living in my skincare collection for ages, simply because I wanted to get the most of it, since it was a bit of a pamper product for me. I depart from this product with no bittersweet feelings, as I did not really think it deserves the hype it has. I mainly got it because my weird combination skin gets pretty dry from all the acne treatment going on (no luck)… but I wasn’t impressed; it’s a good moisturizer, no different than the next one. And it didn’t help with my dry patches either. It’s safe to say I wouldn’t buy it again any time soon!
Bourjois Healthy Mix Eclat Concealer has been a very lovely product: light to medium coverage, has a fruity fragrance and feels great on the skin. But for my oily-slippery-ugh complexion, this is not the best choice when it comes to covering spots. It is really good for under the eye, though! If you have dry, sensitive or even combo skin that’s not too oily, this should work great for you.
Sephora Waterproof 24H Eyeliner, Black Lace is a must-have! If you know me, you know winged eye liner is my fave thing and almost cannot go out the house without a flick on my eyeballs.
This is actually my second one, that’s how much I love it. Give me something waterproof and I’m sold. Lasts all day (although I always check my upper lids for smudges… oily lids, yet again) and is relatively easy to use, for a liquid eyeliner. I always seem to go back to it.
Revlon Colorstay Concealer: Again, this is my second bottle. When I’m not using my holy grail Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, this is what I resort to. As part of the Colorstay range, it is long-lasting and will cover up the imperfections really well. Will I repurchase it? I’m not sure, as I recently discovered the concealer of all concealers that even beats my precious Collection one (stay tuned).
Make Up For Ever Waterproof Cream Eye Shadow. Ah. This one still hurts. I bought it like one year ago and it was marvelous. With a small brush I used to apply it as eyeliner and it was new, fresh and definitely not dry. Now, it’s so dry I can’t do anything with it, not even use it as eye shadow. Sad, sad times, my friends…
That’s it for now, hope summer found you all well!
