It’s weird thinking that this is my first Favourites post… What have I been doing with my life?! While we try and forget about this, here we are, at the end of June, wondering why is time so cruel with us.
Anyway, these have been my beauty faves this month. Enjoy!
Thierry Mugler’s Alien Perfume is the bomb. Musky, sweet and mysterious, I’ve been loving this fragrance throughout the year, but I’ve especially used it this month. It’s not exactly a fresh summer scent, but oh well… guilty as charged.
Now, I’ve recently finished my last Sephora eye liner featured in my Empties post and I really wanted to try something new. I came across the Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner on my last Boots cheeky visit and it was definitely a win. I usually go for waterproof when it comes to liners; it’s a must, as I have to fight against my oily lids that somehow manage to get everything smudged. So yep, it doesn’t budge at all and comes off easily with water and a good cleanser.
The Comforter Bubble Bar from Lush. Oh, my. With each bubble bar or bath bomb that I try, I say “This is surely my favourite”, but when I move on to the next one, the same thing happens. I’ve broken the bar in four, so a quarter is literally all you need for the entire bath. The scent is our of this world: blackcurrant and bergamot (might not sound like much, but trust me on this one). It also makes the bath pink so… I am sold.
The next June fave is surprise, surprise, another Maybelline Color Tattoo, in Metallic Pomegranate this time. This is an incredibly versatile eye shadow, as it can be worn either during the day on its own and with some coats of mascara, either with added depth in the crease and eye liner for a night-out look. I know the Color Tattoos are a beauty blogger’s favourite, but seriously, it’s time to succumb to the hype.
Okay, you might need to hold onto your hats, because the next one is a high-end product (shock and horror). By Terry Waterproof Crayon Khol Terrybly, Festive Gold is -how do I describe this without saying oh my God- AMAZEBALLS. This was kind of an unnecessary purchase if you think about it, because you can easily use gold eye shadow, but believe me, it’s entirely justified. Let me tell you. I first swatched this on my hand in the store, nodded to myself in delight, but then moved on to other products. I then tried to rub off the swatch and it wouldn’t move – at all. I needed it. And now I have to control myself not to use it every single day under my eyes, or in the inner corners, or in the waterline (so many uses, right?!), that’s how addictive it is. Anyway, I’m done rambling, I just wanted you to know how exciting this eye liner is!
Moving on, for the lips I’ve been constantly using the Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Liner in 140 Intense Pink. Yours truly finally dared to overdraw her lips and she’s never going back. This one is really good for the job, even if it’s not exactly nude (on a hunt for that). The shade is a gorgeous warm pink that’s subtle, but gives the lips the greatest hint of colour.
Finally, on my nails I’ve been using OPI’s Polka.com, either on all the nails, either as an accent. Totally a summer nail polish, but it’s a darn chore to take off. I do love me some glitter polish from time to time.
For a very short non-beauty favourites, I’ll mention that I became obsessed with the show Orphan Black (make yourself a favour and watch it) and had on repeat this and this (it’s not officially out yet, but my thirst for The Weeknd is real).
That’s it for this month’s faves, hope you’ll all have an amazing summer! Take care.
