These days I’ve been thinking about my writing and where I want to take it from here. Interestingly enough, the conclusion that I reached was that I do not know. I don’t know whether my main interest is beauty, music or film. I’m still figuring everything out, but what I do know is that this is my safe haven where I write about myself and shit that I like. So, I am hereby introducing the new series: The Music Den, where I’m talking about music I listened to that month: old and new.
So here you can see myself in my natural habitat. And yes, that is a Hogwarts mug.
My taste in music varies a lot: from Taylor Swift to Asap Rocky and Tame Impala, it’s all just a bunch of refreshing stuff that I personally call good music.
Starting off quite abruptly with arguably one of the best rappers in the industry, Lamar’s King Kunta is just that good. The funky beat, the energy and the words make this song an irresistible gem that I couldn’t stop listening to in January. I must admit though, it took me half a year to get into his music, since it’s so different and complex, but boy, was it worth it.
Dark and sensual, this one is incredibly pleasing to the ears. Add some wine into the mix of a whispering, sexy voice and fantastic instrumental and you’ve got yourself the perfect atmosphere.
Accessible and relaxing music? Better check this one out. I found myself hitting that repeat button way more than I care to admit.
More of that lovely music to chill out to. Seriously, you would make yourself a huge favour.
After they conquered my heart with their Electric Love, I declare myself sold with this one. Their music is a straight out rush of adrenaline that will make you feel a million times better. Oh, and Garrett Borns, the singer behind BØRNS, is absolutely gorgeous (here and here).
This is an indie-techno jewel that will possibly go straight to your heart. It doesn’t happen often, but this time, the remix is indeed better than the original, or at least that’s what I believe.
