This weekend made for a brilliant impromptu Brighton visit. I met with two friends there at 10 in the morning and we went exploring. Since it was my first time there, I was eager to see this little gem of a town, as well as the infamous Brighton Pier that makes appearances in all pretty Instagrams (hint: I was disappointed).
Oh the weather was fantastic; the sun was out the entire day. But not all the sun rays in the world could make the Pier appear decent at the very least. All glitzy, gray and somber, the Pier was just not what I’d hoped it to be. But the view, doe! Gorgeous.
After that blow, we went for a walk along the seafront and stumbled across a nice place to have breakfast. The Brighton Music Hall offered some good traditional British food (I only managed to get a mediocre vegan burger), as well as great music (which came at a price, because the busker came wiggling her bucket at us after the performance). And then we just walked, took pictures, walked and took some more pictures. What really impressed me, however, was the city centre. SOO many amazing places and the people, well…the people there really know how to make a statement. And I say that in the most positive way, I just loved looking at passers-by, all with such unique fashion sense. Before heading back to London we stopped for smoothies – as one does – and called it a day.
