In terms of music, Kanye West was definitely the most noticeable and hilarious figure in February. From his tweet asking Zuckerberg for a small loan of $1 billion (a Trump reference indeed) to the Wiz Khalifa shade and to Rose Amber’s tweet that still rules the Internet, Kanye was unstoppable this month with his online presence: he just won’t stop tweeting. Not to mention that he titled his album So help me God, Swish, Waves, just to ultimately settle for The Life of Pablo (wth?!), which, apparently, is neither referring to Escobar, nor Picasso, but Saint Paul. And it does make sense, since this album is slightly gospel, like West warned us about.
A not so popular idea among the beauty community, Glossier inspired me to write a post featuring products that I use to accentuate my natural beauty, and not cover it. I love me some NikkieTutorials glam from time to time, but letting your raw good looks shine through can be fun as well.
These days I’ve been thinking about my writing and where I want to take it from here. Interestingly enough, the conclusion that I reached was that I do not know. I don’t know whether my main interest is beauty, music or film. I’m still figuring everything out, but what I do know is that this is my safe haven where I write about myself and shit that I like. So, I am hereby introducing the new series: The Music Den, where I’m talking about music I listened to that month: old and new.
If you haven’t got consumed already by the nerve-racking Christmas fever, don’t worry, there is still time for you to stress over gifts and plans. Makeup however, tends to brighten up my day; so go ahead and slap some confidence and glitter on your face and try not to get caught up in the materialistic side of the holidays.
I did think about not doing the classic gold eye – red lip but who was I kidding? What says Christmas better than this? Nothing, yeah, I know.
With colder weather comes warmer-toned makeup and this weird-but-totally-fun combination between matte and sparkle. Oh and the grimmer the scenery outside, the deeper the red lipstick – well, that’s something to be excited about! Continue reading “The Winter Edit”
Not a brand that everyone has heard of, but Maple Holistics is slowly but surely makes its name well-known among the blogosphere. With products for body, hair and skin for both women and men and with the goal to provide a natural, holistic range of premium products which can enhance hygiene, health and daily living, the brand is already standing out, isn’t it?
Autumn, fall, the rain season – call it what you want, but when autumn starts kicking in you know you can’t help but succumb to the urge of snuggling in bed with tea, a book or a good TV show. But hey, I don’t blame you, it’s the weather’s fault (also school is in full swing and procrastination comes back, but that is totally not the problem). Continue reading “Snuggly Autumn: Favourites”
Here it is, another makeup look! Quite colourful, summery and warm, but still appropriate for both day and night wear. With a darker lipstick, you could go to town with this and look oh so ravishing.
Here we are, mid summer, sweating our bottoms off and turning to makeup for solace. If you haven’t brought out the golds and the brights yet, this is the sign you were waiting for: do it now.
There are certain days in a girl’s life when even putting makeup on can seem like a chore. On days like this, kudos to you, if you can go in public without wearing the slightest bit of makeup… but, until my face gets better (probably when I’m in my thirties), 5 minutes to get my glam on is all I need.
