This summer made for a spontaneous trip to Italy, and I was not prepared for the sheer beauty that I encountered over there. The architecture, the people, the nature, the food, the gelato (and the Aperol) – were all straight out of a dream.
I stayed in Milan for a week, but also visited Venice, Burano island, and the Como lake in an attempt to make the most of my Italian getaway. To say that I was taken aback by the charm Italy holds is an understatement. Oh, and don’t even get me started on Italian men…
So have a look at some of the photos I took while in Italian heaven and immerse yourself in the glorious scenery.

Did you think I’d forgotten you? Perhaps you hoped I had.
House of Cards reference aside, I know it’s been a while. Amid final year university projects and exhibitions, stress and anxiety, job prospects and reality creeping up on me, I lost myself. But I’m here now, pretending to be ready to take on the world.
June has came and gone, bringing second thoughts, sunshine and sweat, but also good times, excellent skincare and fantastic music.

This weekend made for a brilliant impromptu Brighton visit. I met with two friends there at 10 in the morning and we went exploring. Since it was my first time there, I was eager to see this little gem of a town, as well as the infamous Brighton Pier that makes appearances in all pretty Instagrams (hint: I was disappointed). Long time no post. Well, let me fill you in a bit (not that this blog is too personal anyway).
My summer went something like this: got a very spontaneous job at Zara and ultimately got sucked into a routine of work and sleep, while also trying to keep my social life somewhat breathing. As soon as my summer job ended – thank God (not that it was that bad, but damn, customers are the devil) – I went on a deeply researched adventure to the Yorkshire coastline to a village called Robin Hood’s Bay. So have a peek at my photojournal. Continue reading “City Break: Robin Hood’s Bay”
Interesting choice of dress on a cloudy London day, you might say. And you’re right, I was probably the brightest eye-soaring sight on the tube and I ain’t sorry about it. But it doesn’t have to be mid July for you to wear that floral maxi dress either. So check out this JD Williams lil vivid number. Is it green? It is yellow? Well, it’s exactly what you want it to be. Ah, yes. The annoyingly temperamental season that gets you confused as to whether to throw on a jacket or not. I’m one of those people that will casually pull out of my bag a 1 liter water bottle, an umbrella, my cat, a scarf, a book, chocolate, a makeup bag and a plethora of other things that, excuse you, of course I need – so carrying a jacket with me comes naturally anyway.

March has brought us some pretty cool tunes, but it was also merciless with the mediocre ones. We discuss Kendrick Lamar’s surprise compilation album, ZAYN’s highly anticipated Mind Of Mine and up and coming artist Låpsley. Warning: mixed feelings.

Yep, totally making a reference to Batman v Superman in the title (which you will have to watch for yourself to see where you stand; I’m still on the fence about it) and please do tell me your opinions on it in the comments!
Anyway, this post will explore which matte foundation is better. Both drugstore, both hyped, both claiming to hold 24H – but which one does the job better?

If you rolled your eyes at the title, pursed your lips or didn’t care at all, don’t bother. This post is not an attempt to convert y’all, but merely my honest experience with veganism/plant-based lifestyle.
See, vegans and vegetarians have become this hilarious meme everyone will laugh at and nobody thinks twice about it. Hell, even I sometimes still laugh. And no, I will not go into the “misunderstood life of vegans”, but mocking some people that are actually doing a good thing for the planet and glamorizing the all-knowing bacon eater has been taken a step too far. Oh and to clarify, when I introduce myself I do not give handshakes while saying “I’m vegan, nice to meet you too”. Continue reading “To vegan or not to vegan?”
In terms of music, Kanye West was definitely the most noticeable and hilarious figure in February. From his tweet asking Zuckerberg for a small loan of $1 billion (a Trump reference indeed) to the Wiz Khalifa shade and to Rose Amber’s tweet that still rules the Internet, Kanye was unstoppable this month with his online presence: he just won’t stop tweeting. Not to mention that he titled his album So help me God, Swish, Waves, just to ultimately settle for The Life of Pablo (wth?!), which, apparently, is neither referring to Escobar, nor Picasso, but Saint Paul. And it does make sense, since this album is slightly gospel, like West warned us about.
